Spring Update

Hey all!

Sorry about the sporadic posts, though this one may be a bit long. My time has been entirely filled with labs and homework, on top of the first round of midterms which just passed/is passing this week.
I'm having a blast, and my time management skill have improved greatly (though its easy to manage your time when there isn't any left to slack off...).
Anyway, to get to the point of this post, I just received an email from the folks at MECOP. I have been accepted to their preliminary interviews! This is a behavioral interview with engineers/managers from the companies who participate, acting as representatives of MECOP. It is on the 16/17th of  May at the OSU campus in Corvallis. As there are other students going, im going to try and hitch a ride, otherwise I need to get a bus/train ticket (that might be a good idea anyway, as i can work on hw on the train). I will know by the first week of June if I was accepted into the program.
For those who want a refresher or don't know about MECOP, the gist of it is they are a organization that puts students at participating colleges in the STEM fields in touch with businesses around the NW US (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California), to get internships with those companies. They provide a buffer layer between the company and the intern for things like payment, and what work the student is involved in when they are on internship.
If I get into the program it is a guaranteed 2 six-month internships at Two different companies, (they  -try- for one large place and one small place).
This does effect my graduation date if you were wondering, the internships will take place, the summer of next year (2018) going through my spring term, and the summer of 2019 going through that spring term. This will push my graduation date out a year, I'm not really concerned about it because the year of in industry experience seem like a fantastic trade.

Here is the link to the MECOP site where you can read more, instead of having to google MECOP :)

Hey everyone!

Classes have come to an end, and now all that's left of the term is finals. I have one on monday 8am, two on tuesday, 8am and 11am. and then one last final on wednesday, 10am. And right at the end, i finally came down with the cold that has been going around all winter term. It sucks, but i am not ~that~ sick (i hope) so I should be okay coming into tests.

Next term is going to be even harder from what i've heard. I have the schedule
all lined up for next term:

Got through my first round of testing on midterms, very good grades on all of them (2 B's, 2 A's). I am in the middle of the second round of tests before finals. and the test that I got back (today), for microcontrollers, was an A!! I have another Circuits midterm next week friday, which i am feeling good about, and there is a study session for that test coming up this sunday. For my other two courses that next exam has yet to be scheduled. although I know there will be another exam in both before the final. I am at a very good position coming up on the finals!! :)

I just signed up for courses next term, I have to make up a daily schedule to post it. I will be taking Data Structures, UNIX, Public Speaking, and Integral Calculus. So next term is going to be just as hectic. And from what i've heard even harder than this term, i'm looking forward to it though!

Back at school

Made it back to school safe!
It has been snowing since last night, and it's supposed to keep snowing for the next few days. Which makes for a lot of picturesque locations around campus. So I'll be posting more photos as I walk around the next week or so.
I'm sure I'll be sick of the snow soon.
